SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (September 22, 2015) - Last night, Arizona United SC partnered with Barcelona AZ-Total Futbol Academy, as part of United's "Student of the Game" program, to match youth soccer players up with some of Arizona's star players.

"Our partnership with Arizona United, allows our players to see up close, what may be obtainable for them at the next level," said Barcelona AZ-Total Futbol Academy Club President Greg Gonzalez.

Players Jose Cuevas, Robbie Derschang, Damian Rosales and Schillo Tshuma participated in and spoke with players from the Mesa-based club during a training session at Red Mountain Soccer Complex

"Having the players join us this evening, demonstrates the value and importance of our relationship between Arizona United and Barcelona AZ," Gonzalez said. "Only bigger and better things are to come."

Arizona United Soccer Club's "Student of the Game" program is designed to provide youth soccer clubs and leagues with an education-based curriculum. It is designed to assist clubs, entry-level coaches, parents and players in further development of their soccer knowledge and teaching. One aspect of the program has our partners observing closed-door training sessions with Arizona United. This will allow for players and coaches to further their knowledge by watching high-level professional soccer. The program allows youth soccer players in Arizona to experience what it's like to be a professional soccer player.

"Student of the Game" partners receive a listing onarizonaunited.com as a 2015 Youth Soccer Partner, one player appearance at an event for each level of partnership, a raffle pack of premium merchandise items, great fundraising opportunities, and priority access to "Get in the Game" on-field opportunities, which include: Penalty kicks post game, ball kids, players escorts/dream team, high-five line, pre-game play on the field, halftime mini-games, and a picture on the pitch.
