PHOENIX - Arizona United SC - Today, Arizona United SC added to its roster with the resigning of defender Brock Granger. The Honolulu native appeared in 17 matches (946 minutes) for Arizona United in 2015. Prior to that he spent two seasons with USL's Dayton Dutch Lions.
"He's a player that I think has the versatility to play anywhere along the back," said Arizona United head coach Frank Yallop. "I feel he's going to be a big part of the squad this year. It was good to re-sign him."
Granger rejoins the team just ahead of the opening of training camp. Players signed for the 2016 season will head to Casa Grande next week for the club's first training sessions. The initial training session of the new campaign will be on February 16 (is this open to the public?)
Arizona United will begin its preseason in Tucson, Arizona, for the Desert Diamond Cup, held at Kino Sports Complex. The club's first match will be on Saturday, February 20, at 4:30 p.m. against fellow USL club Swope Park Rangers KC. Tickets can be purchased at FCTucson.com.
Arizona United's home opener will be on Saturday, April 30 against Portland Timbers 2. The 2016 season begins on March 26, with a match on the road against Los Angeles Galaxy II.
