Arizona Diamondbacks Announce Sod Poodles Opening Day Roster

AMARILLO, TX - The Arizona Diamondbacks today announced the official Opening Day roster for the 2026 Amarillo Sod Poodles. Taking the field later tonight against the Springfield Cardinals (Double-A, St. Louis Cardinals), the squad includes six prospects on MLB Pipeline's Top-30 Diamondbacks Prospects list.

Of the 27 players on the active roster, 17 are returning Sod Poodles with the remaining 10 players set to make their Amarillo debuts in the coming days. Featured among the organizational top-prospects (per MLB Pipeline) on the team includes Daniel Eagen (no. 7), Jansel Luis (no. 13), Cristofer Torin (no. 15), Druw Jones (no. 16), Ashton Izzi (no. 18), and Gavin Conticello (no. 30). Familiar faces returning to the Panhandle include Jose Cabrera, Landon Sims, Gavin Conticello, and Manuel Pena, as all four of those returners were on Amarillo's roster for the entire year a season ago. Eagen and Torin were both top prospects that made their Amarillo debuts last season. Several pitchers, including Izzi, Hunter Cranton, and Josh Grosz, will all make their debuts in Amarillo after being acquired by the Diamondbacks at the trade deadline last year or in the offseason.
