Toronto Argonauts News Release
TORONTO, ON â August 7, 2003 â Paul Robson, head of the Toronto Franchise Management Team, announced today on behalf of the Toronto Argonauts, that full plans have been activated to ensure that all front office business functions will move forward following yesterday's staff reductions.
"The action taken yesterday to reduce the front office of the Toronto Argonaut Football Club was necessary to meet its near-term business objectives and increase the financial competitiveness of the team," said Mr. Robson. "Throughout the process we have ensured the integrity of the on-field product is maintained. Staff reductions in any area of the operation are difficult; however, we have put an interim plan in place to ensure that all critical business functions are efficiently and effectively managed moving forward.
In the media relations role, Ian Sanderson will assume responsibility for the day-to-day requirements from the Argonauts' Erindale facility. Shawn Lackie, Director of Football Media for at the CFL, will lead Game Day media needs and on-going football media requirements.
Senior League staff will assist the Club in the planning and execution of business operations in marketing, sponsorship, finance and game day facility operations. The process of collaboration is well underway.
