Antonin Verreault Named Videotron Player of the Week

Boucherville, QC - The latest Videotron Player of the Week in the QMJHL is winger Antonin Verreault of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. In a trio of road games, the 19-year-old from Laval, Quebec scored twice and added six assists as the Huskies went 2-1 to extend their lead atop the West Division.
On Friday night in Blainville, Verreault helped engineer a third period Huskies comeback, scoring the game tying goal and assisting on the eventual game winner as Rouyn-Noranda rallied from a 2-0 deficit to down the Armada 3-2. The fourth-year veteran earned first star honors for the contest.
The following afternoon in Victoriaville, Verreault claimed the game's second star while the Huskies claimed its 18th victory of the campaign. This time, after trailing 1-0 early, the Huskies found their growl, scoring seven straight in a 7-2 triumph over the Tigres. This time, the crafty veteran ended the day with three helpers, including yet another assist on the game winner.
On Sunday in Shawinigan, the Huskies saw its four-game win streak snapped in a 5-3 loss at the hands of the Cataractes. Despite the loss, Verreault remained a factor, scoring once and adding a pair of assists, his fourth straight multi-point outing.
Verreault's latest offensive output has vaulted him into a tie for fourth in league scoring with 44 points in 30 games. Acquired by the Huskies from the Gatineau Olypiques at last summer's QMJHL Draft, Verreault has been invited the NHL training camp by the Edmonton Oilers in each of the past two seasons.
