The Rome Braves & Floyd County Police Department announce the Seventh Annual Celebrity Shootout Golf Tournament on Friday, November 13, 2015, at Stone Bridge Golf Course. The tournament is set in a scramble format with a shotgun start at 11am and will feature current and former Rome and Atlanta Braves greats. A Par three hole will be deemed the Celebrity Shootout hole where a team can invite a celebrity to take a shot. Competing teams have the opportunity to purchase an extra shot at the Par 3 hole for the celebrity to hit a shot off the tee. This annual golf tournament has donated a total of over $50,000 to local and National charities.

"I am honored again that our police department will be able to work side by side with the Rome Braves in sponsoring the Seventh Annual Charity Golf Classic benefiting Summit Quest," says FCPD Chief Bill Shiflett. "We are proud to put our efforts toward making this the best tournament yet for such an outstanding group doing so much for children and families affected by Cancer." Rome Braves General Manager Michael Dunn adds, "It is our hope that through this golf event we can further their mission of supporting children & their families in Northwest Georgia who have been stricken by cancer. It is our pleasure to partner with Summit Quest."

The proceeds from this year's event will benefit Summit Quest Cancer Support Services. "Summit Quest is so grateful to receive the support of the Rome Braves Celebrity Golf Tournament for the second year in a row," says Founder and Executive Director Williams James. "All proceeds from this year's tournament will go directly to assisting Summit Quest in meeting our mission of providing strength, hope, and service to the children and families our community who are facing cancer. Summit Quest fulfills their mission by providing youth and family focused support groups, facilitating outdoor adventure trips, and through acts of kindness that help to alleviate some of the day to day stresses that families face along a cancer journey."
