Angel Reese Foundation Hosts Back to School Bash

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Angel C. Reese Foundation, in partnership with the Arthur M. Blank YMCA of the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, hosted its inaugural Atlanta Back-to- School Bash, bringing together more than 1,000 families for a day of celebration, community and service ahead of the new school year.
The event distributed more than 1,000 backpacks filled with essential school supplies to students in 1st through 8th grade, helping ensure they begin the school year prepared. The event created a family-centered experience that celebrated students while connecting families with community resources and partners.
The Back-to-School Bash marked the Angel C. Reese Foundation's first signature community event in Atlanta, reflecting Angel Reese's commitment to investing in the city she now calls home.
"Giving back has always been at the heart of everything I do, and it means so much to be able to support the Atlanta community," said Angel Reese, founder of the Angel C. Reese Foundation.
"Watching these students leave with the tools they need to start the school year with confidence was incredibly rewarding. Moments like this are what our Foundation is all about: investing in young people, strengthening communities, and creating opportunities that reach far beyond the game."
Throughout the afternoon, families enjoyed a variety of activities, including live entertainment from a DJ, appearances by the Atlanta Dream Hype Squad, bounce houses, face painting, a photo booth, food trucks and interactive experiences by The Dream. Angel also pulled lucky raffle winners of autographed Barbies, her signature shoes and more.
The Foundation's partnership with the Arthur M. Blank YMCA highlighted a shared commitment to strengthening communities and ensuring young people have the resources and support they need to succeed.
"We were honored to partner with the Angel C. Reese Foundation for this amazing day of service," said YMCA Executive Director Monique Lee. "Seeing families come together, children leave excited for the school year, and so many volunteers and partners invest in our community was truly inspiring. This event demonstrated the power of collaboration and our shared commitment to helping young people thrive."
The event was made possible through the support of more than 50 dedicated volunteers, along with sponsorship from Serious Injury Law Group, community partners Kaiser Permanente, Vita Coco, Reebok, Coca Cola, Atlanta Vibe, Slim and Husky Pizza, and supporters whose collective efforts helped create an unforgettable experience for Atlanta families.
The Angel C. Reese Foundation remains committed to expanding its community impact throughout Atlanta and beyond by continuing to create opportunities that empower youth through education, wellness, mentorship, and access to essential resources.
