Anaheim Ducks Sign Jordan Hendry to One-Year Contract

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed defenseman Jordan Hendry to a one-year contract through the 2012-13 NHL season. Per club policy, no financial terms of the deal were disclosed.

Hendry, 28 (2/23/84), has appeared in 129 career NHL games with Chicago, earning 4-913 points with 40 penalty minutes (PIM). A member of the 2010 Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks, Hendry played 15 games during Chicago's successful playoff run that Spring, going scoreless with two PIM. He set numerous career highs during the 2009-10 regular season, including goals (2), assists (6), points (8) and plus/minus (+5).

A native of Nokomis, Saskatchewan, Hendry began the 2011-12 season with Houston, Minnesota's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). In 10 games with the Aeros, Hendry scored 0-22 points with a +8 rating and 10 PIM. He signed a one-year contract with HC Lugano of the Swiss Elite League in November and went on to appear in 29 games, earning 1-910 points with 18 PIM.
