Americans Weekend Deemed A Success

Allen Americans News Release
Allen TEXAS-The Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League held several big events this past weekend.
The day started with a youth street hockey game put on by the Allen Americans. Head Coach and GM Dwight Mullins supplied the sticks as kids of all ages took part in a good old game of street hockey, as the Americans continue their effort to introduce hockey to the youth in Collin County
"It's one of the things about this job I love the most." said Head Coach and GM Dwight Mullins. "Spending time teaching, and introducing kids to the sport I love the most is very rewarding."
The Americans held an Open House Extravaganza at the Allen Event Center from 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm on Saturday. Tours of the Arena were given by Americans Ticket Representatives as the team continues to sell season seats in the hope of reaching their goal of 3,000 full season tickets this season.
The Americans also held auditions for Anthem Singer and In Game Host. Several local radio personalities were on hand for that, including Tom Gribble of Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket, Randy James of the Bo and Jim Morning Show on Lone Star 92.5.
The night was capped off by 2011-2012 Ice Angels auditions held in front of fans, family, and staff on stage at the Allen Event Center. New Ice Angels Instructor/Choreographer Stephanie DiBiase-Wheat along several other judges helped pick the new squad.
"It became official to me on Saturday night when myself and all of the judges picked the 2011-2012 Ice Angels Dance Team." said DiBiase-Wheat. "13 beautiful and talented ladies earned their spot that evening. It's so exciting and rewarding to me knowing that I get to put my experience dancing for professional sports organizations on a team that I help create. All of the girls are so excited and pumped for what we have in store for the Allen Americans and their fans."
