
Americans, KVEW-TV Announce New Three-Year Partnership

KENNEWICK, WA - The Tri-City Americans Sr. Vice President of Business Operations, Brian Sandy, announced today that the team has signed a new three-year television rights deal with KVEW-42 ABC to televise up to 11 games each season for the next three seasons with an option to broadcast additional playoff games. As per club policy, the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
KVEW TV in Kennewick and KAPP TV in Yakima provide network programming as well as local service to the Yakima-Pasco-Richland-Kennewick area. The two stations together reach seven counties in Washington and Oregon.
"We are thrilled to continue our relationship with the Americans and to continue to build off the momentum of last year's U.S. Division championship," explains Brian Paul, General Manager of KAPP/KVEW television. "With another three-year deal in place and, with the relationship that we have developed here in the Tri-Cities, KVEW looks forward to being able to continue to deliver Americans hockey to its fans."

They have done an exceptional job with their televised broadcasts thus far and, with this deal, we are now able to provide coverage to all of our fans in the Mid-Columbia - from Ellensburg to Pendleton - for the next three years."
All games will be broadcast live on KAPP's digital channel 35.2, KVEW's digital channel 42.2 and their âMy Network' channel 280 on Charter basic cable. The following is a tentative list of games scheduled to be aired...

- October 18, 2008 vs. Spokane
- November 8, 2008 at Spokane
- November 28, 2008 vs. Spokane
- December 27, 2008 at Spokane
- January 17, 2009 vs. Spokane
- January 24, 2009 at Spokane
- February 21, 2009 vs. Spokane
- February 28, 2009 at Spokane
- March 13, 2009 at Spokane
- March 14, 2009 vs. Spokane
The Americans' rookie camp will start on Wednesday, August 20 and conclude on Saturday, August 23 with the annual Todd Klassen Memorial Classic. Main camp will then kick-off on Sunday, August 24. The Americans will open their 21st WHL season on Saturday, September 20 against the Kelowna Rockets at the Toyota Center.
