Americans Add Young, Skilled Players Roy and Courtnall to Roster

Allen Americans Signee Eric Roy

Allen, Texas - The ECHL Kelly Cup Champion Allen Americans added defenseman Eric Roy and forward Justin Courtnall to the 2015-2016 roster. Both will be attending Americans training camp in early October.
Eric Roy is a 6-3, 205 pound offensive defenseman, who put up a total of 90 points his final two years of major junior with the Brandon Wheat Kings. The native of Beauval, SK, was a fifth round draft pick of the Calgary Flames in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
"Eric will really help our power play," said Allen Americans Head Coach and General Manager Steve Martinson. "He's has a great left shot and brings more skill to our blue line."
The Americans also added power forward, Justin Courtnall. Justin is the son of former NHL player Geoff Courtnall, and the nephew of former popular Dallas Stars forward, Russ Courtnall. He is a former draft pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2007. He has 123 games in the American Hockey League with Providence, Hamilton, Bridgeport and Syracuse.
"Justin is a big strong power forward with a lot of offensive upside," said Martinson.
The Allen Americans will open training camp next month in Allen. Details on dates and times will be announced in the coming days.
