
Altitude Releases 2003-04 Schedule

ASHEVILLE, N.C. July 21, 2003 --The Asheville Altitude launches their third season in the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) with an exciting home schedule that includes 23 exciting home dates at the Asheville Civic Center.
"We are anxious to get our third NBDL season started," said Alfred White, Altitude Team President. "We are excited about our upcoming schedule, especially our number of weekend games."
The third NBDL season will feature a 46 game schedule, four less than last season. The schedule change, which focuses on more weekend dates, expands the season from March to April.
"Our research has told us that NBDL fans would rather attend games on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, and that they are prone to attend even more games after the first of the year," said Phil Evans, NBDL President. "We are excited we can accommodate our fans' desire to attend NBDL games when it's most convenient for them."
The 2003-04 schedule is highlighted with 17 weekend dates including seven Friday and eight Saturday night contests. Two games will tip off on a Sunday this season including the Roanoke Dazzle, Feb. 22, beginning at 3:00 p.m. and the home opener.
The Altitude opens the regular season at Columbus, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. ET, followed by the regular-season home opener against the Huntsville Flight Nov. 30 beginning at 7:15 p.m. at the Asheville Civic Center.
Following the opener, the Altitude will face the Lowgators of North Charleston with back-to-back meetings on Nov. 2 at the Asheville Civic Center before launching a two game road trip to Charleston on Nov. 5 and Roanoke on Dec. 6.
Starting the New Year, the Altitude will embark on three-road trips consisting of two games, and two season-long three-game journeys. The first trip begins Jan. 3 in Huntsville and ends Jan. 14 with the North Charleston Lowgators while the second adventure starts on March 16 at Columbus and ends on March 20 against the Huntsville Flight. The Altitude will wrap of season regular season play against the Fayetteville Patriots April 10.
"This is going to be a big year that will be kicked-off by the NBA pre-season game between the Atlanta Hawks and Cleveland Cavaliers," said White. "This game once again reflects the commitment the NBA is making to our community and our fans."
Altitude season tickets are on sale now and feature numerous options for all entertainment needs. Season ticket holders and corporate partners will receive a unique benefit as they will receive a free ticket to the Atlanta Hawks versus Cleveland Cavaliers, hosted in the Asheville Civic Center, October 8. Altitude full season ticket holders and corporate partners will receive one free ticket to the NBA preseason game for every full season ticket package purchased. In addition, all Altitude season-ticket holders (full and partials) and corporate partners may purchase additional tickets to this special event at a discounts.
Fans can purchase season ticket packages for home games by call the Altitude at (828) 782-1000. Season packages start as low as $27 and are discounted from the single game price ranges of $8, $12, $27 and $32. Additional discounts will be available for children. Currently fans may purchase full, season, flex or mini plans and group ticket packages. Individual single game ticket will go on sale in later months.
