Montreal - The Montreal Alouettes announced on Monday that the club has acquired the Hamilton Tiger-Cats fourth-round 2014 CFL Canadian Draft pick in exchange for fullback Dahrran Diedrick.
Diedrick joined the Alouettes as a free agent in 2006, rushing for a combined 853 yards on 169 carries in 110 games with Montreal. He also won back-to-back Grey Cups with the Alouettes in 2009 and 2010.
"On behalf of the Montreal Alouettes, we want to thank Dahrran for his years of excellence. He had been a major part of our success on and off the field,'' said Alouettes General Manager Jim Popp. ''He will forever be a part of the Alouettes family history. We wish him good health and success in his new football career in Hamilton. Doing a trade with a veteran player is always a tough decision, but we feel in the best interest of Dahrran and our club, that this is a win-win situation for both parties."
