
Allen sets pro football record

Toronto, ON - (September 4, 2006) - In the third quarter of tonight's game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Toronto Argonauts quarterback Damon Allen connected with Arland Bruce III on a 29-yard shuffle-pass for a touchdown, setting a new professional football record in career passing yards.
The previous record was held by Canadian Football and Pro Football Hall of Famer Warren Moon. Moon compiled 70,553 passing yards during his 23-year professional football career.
Allen, in his 22nd CFL season, also holds CFL records in career pass attempts (8,854), career pass completions (4,984), career touchdown passes (383) and career rushing yards by a quarterback (11,779). All records include 2006 statistics heading into tonight's game.
Earlier in the week, the CFL hosted a national teleconference with Damon
Allen and Warren Moon to discuss Allen nearing the pro football record.
