GLENDALE, AZ (January 17, 2013) - It has been a clean sweep for the Allen Americans (24-6-3, 51 points) on top of the Sher-Wood Coaches Poll as they have been voted the top team in the CHL on every poll. In the most recent poll, the Americans earned every possible first place vote (teams are unable to vote for themselves) finishing with 90 points.
The poll is released on or near the beginning and middle of each month throughout the regular season. Each first place vote receives 10 points, second place votes earn 9 points, etc.
The other first place vote was cast for the Missouri Mavericks who are ranked third in the most recent poll with 70 points. In second place once again is the Wichita Thunder who earned second place votes on all nine ballots they were eligible.
The next six spots all had some movement with the top five rounding out with Fort Worth Brahmas and Denver Cutthroats. The Brahmas made the biggest jump moving up three spots while the Cutthroats are the lone team to drop more than one spot (fell from #3 to #5).
