
Allard invited to Under-18 selection camp

The St. John's Fog Devils announced that Hockey Canada has invited forward, Jean-Simon Allard, to partake in the Canadian selection camp for the 2006 Under-18 Junior World Cup.
The camp will run from July 28 to August 2, 2006, and will see 22 of the 42 players invited making the roster for Team Canada. The tournament runs from August 8-12 and will be played in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
Allard, one of 24 forwards invited (seven from the QMJHL), posted 4 goals and 13 assists in 65 games in 2005-06, his rookie year in the Quebec League. He played for Team Quebec in the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in December, helping lead the squad to a gold medal. He was the first midget player ever selected by the Fog Devils, fourth overall in the 2005 QMJHL Draft.

The Fog Devils open its Training Camp in Newfoundland on Wednesday, August 16. Details of the Camp will also be released at a later date.
