Vermont Frost Heaves News Release

South Burlington, VT - The Vermont Frost Heaves are pleased to announce the signing of 6'2" guard Mario Kinsey for their upcoming 2008/2009 Premier Basketball League season. A native of Waco Texas, Mario played both football and basketball at the collegiate level. He finished his collegiate career at Texas College and in 2006 averaged 20 points per game, while shooting 51.9% from the field and 33.3% from 3 point range.

"Thank You for letting me be a part of this program. I can't wait to get there and continue the excellent tradition that has been started by Coach Voigt," stated Kinsey.

Last season Mario helped lead the Texas Tycoons to the semi-finals of the ABA Championship series and came in second in the All Star slam dunk contest where he thrilled the crowd with his acrobatic dunks and overall athletic ability. He scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to help lead his West team in the 2008 All Star game that was played in Barre, Vermont.

"We are very excited to have Mario with us this season. We have faced him twice in the playoffs and seen his athleticism on display at the All-Star game, so we know that he will be a great fit to our defense and up-tempo style of play;" stated Head Coach Will Voigt.

All players will report to training camp on December 1, 2008.
