All Star Garrett back with Esks

Edmonton, AB – The 2003 Grey Cup Champion Edmonton Eskimos officially announced today the signing of All-Star defensive back Shannon Garrett. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal have not been released.

The 31 year-old is entering his 9th CFL season – his 5th with the Eskimos. In 2003, Garrett was named a CFL West All-Star for the second time in his career and appeared in all 18 regular season games registering 48 tackles 3 interceptions, 5 pass knockdowns and 1 special teams tackle. One of Garrett's highlights was a 7-tackle performance versus Calgary on September 5th. Garrett previously spent time in both Saskatchewan ('98, '99) and Winnipeg ('95, '96, '97).

"Shannon had a fantastic 2003 season and provided our team with outstanding veteran leadership. I expect another great year from him in 2004, said Eskimo Head Coach Tom Higgins."
