All Flash 2015 First Round Draft Picks Head to Spain with U.S. U23 National Team

ELMA, N.Y. ( Wednesday, February 18, 2015 ) - The U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team will travel to La Manga, Spain, from Feb. 21-March 3 for three matches in a six-team invitational tournament. All four of the Western New York Flash's 2015 NWSL College Draft picks were featured on the 22-player roster. Those players are UCLA products Abby Dahlkemper and Samantha Mewis, Pepperdine forward Lynn Williams and Texas Tech defender Jaelene Hinkle.
Dahlkemper was selected with the Flash's first pick in the Draft (3rd overall) while college teammate Mewis was selected just one pick later (4th overall). After the Chicago Red Stars used the No. 5 pick, the Flash selected again at No. 6 and No. 7, taking Williams and Hinkle back-to-back.
The USA will face the U-23 squads from Japan (Feb. 26), Norway (Feb. 28) and England (March 2). The friendly tournament also features China PR and Sweden.
