
Albuquerque's Agudio And Powell Named NBA Development League Co-Performers Of The Week

NEW YORK, Feb. 8, 2010 - The Albuquerque Thunderbirds' Antoine Agudio and Carlos Powell were today named NBA Development League Co-Performers of the Week for games played during the week of Feb. 1, 2010. The award is the second for Powell, who was also recognized for his play on Jan. 11, and the first for Agudio.
Agudio and Powell led the Thunderbirds to a 3-1 record last week, including back-to-back victories over the Western Conference leading Rio Grande Valley Vipers. The duo combined for 51 points on Feb. 3 when Albuquerque defeated the Vipers 123-114. On Feb. 5, Agudio led all scorers with 24 points as the Thunderbirds handed Rio Grande Valley only the team's eighth loss of the season, 108-93. On Feb. 6, The Vipers defeated the Utah Flash 88-87 on the back of Agudio's game-winning three pointer. He totaled 19 in the game.
For the week, Agudio averaged 21.0 points, while shooting 53 percent from the field (26-of-49), to go with 3.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists. Powell chipped in with 23.0 points per game on 47 percent shooting from the field (30-of-64). He also recorded 4.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game.
Powell, a 6-7 forward out of South Carolina, owns season averages of 22.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 29 games. Agudio, a 6-3 guard from Hofstra, has also appeared in 29 games, averaging 15.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists.
Other top performers last week included Utah's Orien Greene, who averaged 23.7 points and 5.0 rebounds in four games for the Flash; Austin's Malik Hairston, who averaged 25.3 points and 6.0 rebounds in two games on assignment from the San Antonio Spurs for the Toros; Rio Grande Valley's Mike Harris, who averaged 24.3 points and 12.3 rebounds in four games for the Vipers; Sioux Falls' Alexander Johnson, who averaged 25.5 points and 12.5 rebounds in three games for the Skyforce; Tulsa's Mustafa Shakur, who averaged 19.7 points and 6.3 assists in three games for the 66ers; Idaho's Donell Taylor, who averaged 24.7 points and 7.7 rebounds in three games for the Stampede; Rio Grande Valley's Jermaine Taylor, who averaged 31.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in three games for the Vipers while on assignment from the Houston Rockets; Sioux Falls' Reggie Williams, who averaged 27.7 points and 5.3 rebounds in three games for the Skyforce; and Bakersfield's Jeremy Wise, who averaged 23.0 points and 7.0 assists in three games for the Jam.
