The Albany FireWolves Student-Athletes of the Week for the Week of April 22 are Tanner Williams from Niskayuna High School and Zoe Gravina from Albany High School.
Tanner Williams - Niskayuna High School - Senior - Boy's Lacrosse
Tanner is one of the area's elite lacrosse players, and he has spent his entire life playing, existing around, and coaching lacrosse. Tanner grew up around the game because of his father's involvement with the Niskayuna Lacrosse program, he volunteers as a counselor for the NLC Summer Camp every year, and he recently completed the US Lacrosse Bronze Level Certification so that he can continue working with players in the future.
Zoe Gravina- Albany High School - Senior - Girl's Lacrosse
Zoe is a goalie for Albany High Girls Lacrosse team and is one of the hardest working girls on the field. Albany High School plays in a very competitive suburban council where many of the attackers have collegiate level shots which Zoe must stand up against. She has had one shutout game this year and is averaging between 5-13 saves a game. Not only is she a great player she is a great leader. She is one of Albany High School captains and leads on and off the field. If the girls are having a hard day, she is the one the team can count on to change their attitudes.
Congratulations to Tanner and Zoe! The FireWolves wish them continued success in the classroom and on the field this spring sports season. The FireWolves and Dave & Buster's -Albany are proud to be a part of the Capital Region community and support youth and high school athletics throughout the area. More winners will be chosen each week during the high school spring sports season.
