Oshawa FireWolves News Release
The Albany FireWolves of the National Lacrosse League (NLL), today announce that the team has agreed to a three-year deal with defenseman Nick Chaykowsky. The current FireWolves roster can be found here.
Chaykowsky was drafted by the New England Black Wolves in the 2017 NLL Entry Draft and has been with the organization since. He began his career on the Black Wolves' practice squad before working his way up becoming a staple on the team's defensive unit. In Albany's debut season, Chaykowsky played in 16 regular season games and recorded 85 loose balls and 10 caused turnovers. Last season with the FireWolves, the defenseman was second on the club with 17 caused turnovers, and third on the team with 81 loose balls and six blocked shots.
"I've always loved the group we've had with this team the last six years," said Chaykowsky. "Last year, we were reborn again and are moving forward with a strong foundation that will be exciting to keep building on. I can't wait to get back at it and work our way to the ultimate goal!"
"Nick has developed into a premier defender in the NLL," said Glenn Clark, Head Coach of the FireWolves. "Having Nick under contract for three years is important for our journey towards a championship caliber team."
