Albany Empire & Tech East Holding Holiday Donation Drive

Albany, NY - This holiday season, The Albany Empire and Tech East Fire & Water Restoration have partnered with Things of My Very Own, Inc. to hold a donation drive in order to benefit children in need located in the Capital Region. We will be collecting various items (the list can be found below), and delivering them to Things of My Very Own where they will distribute them to children in crisis.
The drive will be held from November 17th until December 16th, and donations can be brought to Tech East, located at 2191 Central Ave, Schenectady, NY Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. All donations must be new, and in their original packaging or have the tags on.
Currently, Things of My Very Own is looking for:
- Twin and full sized bedding sets
- Undergarments, specifically all sizes of boxer shorts
- Hair brushes
- Personal hygiene supplies
- Deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, facial wash, etc.
- Clothing for boys and girls, especially in children's sizes 12-20
- Pajamas, all sizes, especially children's sizes 12-20
- Toys and gifts for teens, especially for boys
- Legos are always a big hit!
Things of My Very Own, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides crisis intervention services to children:
- Impacted by extensive abuse and/or neglect
- At-risk of a Child Protective Services intervention
Our goal is to keep children together with non-abusive family members and out of the foster care system, whenever possible.
The transition out of an abusive situation is often sudden and unexpected. Rarely is a child able to return home to retrieve belongings prior to their move. Things of My Very Own, Inc. recognizes the need for children to have basic necessities and things of their very own as soon as possible, so they can begin their healing process.
Since its founding in 2008, Things of My Very Own, Inc. has provided more than 51,000 units of service to children across 11 counties in New York's Capital Region and surrounding communities.
Both the Albany Empire and Tech East are excited to be able to assist Things of My Very Own in their mission to assist children in the capital region, and we thank you in advance for your generous donations.
About The Albany Empire: The Albany Empire joined the NAL for the 2021 season, and won the championship in it's inaugural season in the league. The Empire plays their home games at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY.
About Tech East: Tech East Fire & Water Restoration is a local, privately owned business that can handle all restoration and construction, both residential and commercial. Their highly trained restoration experts have the proper certifications to handle any type of fire and water damage.
Tech East will be there every step of the way, from cleanup to construction.
