Alabama Hammers News Release
The Alabama Hammers of the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) has announcement the team has resigned two of its wide receivers from the 2014 team and both are expected to play a big part in the success of the Hammers in 2015.
Mico McSwain and Jeremy Grier have signed contracts for the 2015 season.
No. 4 McSwain had 79 receptions for 1,118 yards and 24 touchdowns. He averaged 14 yards per catch. Grier, No. 10, had 38 catches for 417 yards and 10 touchdowns while averaging 11 yards per reception.
Both players were part of the Hammers in 2014 and will have a new head coach in Cosmo Dematteo, who was named this week to lead the Hammers for the 2015 season of PIFL action in Huntsville.
Dematteo said of McSwain, "He's a tremendous offensive player and a great addition to our team to build a base for our 2015 squad." He added about Grier, "He will offer great leadership to young players we'll be signing in the next few weeks."
Both McSwain and Grier played on the 2013 Hammers' squad, which won the PIFL Championship. McSwain was named the league's MVP in 2013 while Grier was team captain.
"Both are tremendous assets in building a foundation we're looking for in 2015," added Dematteo.
