Northern Conference Players Of The Week -- Week Two

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The American Indoor Football League Northern Conference players of the week are as follows.

OFFENSE: Maurice Lee, Miami Valley Silverbacks. Caught two touchdown passes and returned a kickoff for another as the Silverbacks downed the Syracuse Soldiers 54-30.

DEFENSE: Seth Fragale, Erie Freeze. Registered three tackles and blocked a field goal attempt, a PAT attempt and batted down two passes in the Freeze's 61-53 over Canton.

LINEMAN: Joe Washington, Miami Valley Silverbacks and Amos Wilson, Johnstown Riverhawks. Washington helped Kerrick Cooper establish the Silverbacks' passing game in a 54-30 victory over the Syracuse Soldiers. Wilson had five tackles, two sacks and forced a fumble that set up a Riverhawks touchdown in their 21-14 decision over the Steubenville Stampede.

SPECIAL TEAMS: Jason Cherry, Johnstown Riverhawks. Kicked a league record tying three field goals from 38, 36 and 20 yards as the Riverhawks downed the Stuebenville Stampede 21-14.

Southern Conference Players Of The Week -- Week Two

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The American Indoor Football League Southern Conference players of the week are as follows:

OFFENSE: Redd Thompson, Richmond Bandits and Garvin Graves, Chattahoochee Valley Vipers. Thompson caught five touchdown passes and broke his own league record with 188 receiving yards in an 81-40 victory over the Florence Phantoms while Graves tied his own league of 13 catches in the Vipers' 40-39 nailbiter over the Rome Renegades.

DEFENSE: Montrail Pittman, Raleigh Rebels. Registered three interceptions, including one for a score, as the Rebels defeated the Daytona Beach Thunder 65-32.

LINEMAN: John Cratic, Augusta Spartans. Played both sides of the ball in the Spartans' 33-24 over the Carolina Ghostriders, giving Anthony Young time to throw three touchdowns and run for another.

SPECIAL TEAMS: Gene Davis, Chattahoochee Valley Vipers. He nailed a 17-yarder at the buzzer to give the Vipers the 40-39 decision over Rome. Davis made two field goals to help the Vipers erase a pair of double-digit deficits.
