SPRINGFIELD, Mass. . The American Hockey League today announced that Syracuse Crunch left wing Tom Sestito has been suspended for three (3) games as a result of his actions during a playoff game at Manitoba on Friday (Apr. 25).
Sestito was assessed a match penalty under AHL Rule 21.1 for attempt to injure an opponent.
Sestito will miss Syracuse's next three games, beginning with Game 5 of their division semifinal playoff series vs. Manitoba tonight (best-of-seven series tied, 2-2). If Syracuse's season ends season before the entire suspension can be served, any remaining games will carry over to the 2008-09 regular season.
