AG Rugby came out of the gates uncharacteristically slow on Saturday night, and were held to 0 points in the first half, while rival LA was able to nudge over three penalty goals to rack up a 9-0 halftime lead. But the AGs would no go quietly and flipped the script in a hurry.

Then Head Coach Sam Harris made some adjustments to the team's energy at halftime. "We played a bit frantic and panicked in the first half, and at the start of halftime our messages to the team were frantic. So we changed the delivery of our message to be calmer and under control, and that reflected the team's performance in the second half."

The AGs scored 10 points in five minutes and took a 10-9 lead and never relented. A signature try from scrum-half Ryan Louwrens put the AGs ahead 15-9 and left LA's defense confused.

Then with LA threatening, Conner Mooneyham scooped up a loose ball and took it 60 meters for the nail in the coffin try. The AGs were excited to have finally beaten their rival in LA, but were not fully pleased with the team's performance. This coming weekend they'll have another opportunity to prove themselves against the Eastern Conference's best contender, RugbyATL.

The AGs go to Atlanta this weekend, and you can catch the match at any Little Woodrow's location in Austin.

Then, next Saturday March 19th, the AGs are back at home to take on the New England Freejacks on "She is AG" night at Bold Stadium. It's a night for all the women of Austin and a chance for the AGs to pay back the Freejacks for the road defeat last year.
