AG Health's Endocannabinoid Nutrition Brand, VEDA, Named Official Sponsor of the National Women's Hockey League
August 15, 2019 - Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) News Release
AG Health, a leader in pioneering Endocannabinoid Nutrition (ECN) products and committed to bringing unrivaled product innovation, today announced the company's ECN portfolio brand, VEDA, has become the official sponsor of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL) for a second consecutive year. As an official partner with the NWHL in its 2019-20 season, VEDA will make its CBD products available and continue to empower the female athletes through sponsoring multiple deal points.
As part of the NWHL's agreement with the NWHL Players' Association, players under contract for the upcoming 2019-20 season will receive a 50 percent of split revenue from all league-level sponsorship and media deals. Revenue from the partnership agreement with VEDA will be distributed to all NWHL players, resulting in additional compensation for playing beyond their salary. In addition, VEDA will be the title sponsor of the VEDA/NWHL Player of the Week Award during the 2019-20 season.
AG Health developed the company's CBD portfolio brand VEDA to address the deficiency in Endocannabinoid Nutrition (ECN) that affects the health and well-being of individuals all over the world. VEDA is committed to education and bringing unrivaled product innovation that delivers specific benefits that appeal to and reach all people who value proper care of their bodies.
"VEDA is an extremely innovative partner for our players," said Anya Battaglino, the director of the NWHL Players' Association. "Their first priority is absolutely the well-being of the players, and their products are provided to us to help with recovery and performance at the highest level. I am excited for another year with the VEDA team and look forward to pushing the sport of women's hockey forward together."
"VEDA is extremely proud to partner with the NWHL as it gives VEDA the opportunity to help fuel female athletes' success, on and off the ice," says Marvin Degon IV, former professional hockey player and Director of Athletics at AG Health. "We are trailblazing and occupying the intersection between wellness and sports, and look forward to continuing to empower female athletes and promoting women's hockey."
Since the National Women's Hockey League launched in 2015, the league's mission has been clear: provide opportunities for this generation and inspire bigger dreams for the next. The 2019-20 NWHL season begins in October with five teams returning to their markets and playing before their dedicated fans: the Boston Pride, Buffalo Beauts, Connecticut Whale, Metropolitan Riveters, and the Minnesota Whitecaps.
"VEDA's support of the mission of the NWHL and our players continues to be extraordinary for the second consecutive season," said Dani Rylan, NWHL founder, and commissioner. "We are proud to partner with such an innovative brand led by good people who really believe in professional women's hockey in North America, and we look forward to working with VEDA for many years to come."
