LOS ANGELES (Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023) - Playing in their 11th home match of the 2023 campaign, LA Galaxy II earned a 0-0 shutout draw in regulation and defeated Real Monarchs 10-9 in a penalty-kick shootout at Dignity Health Sports Park's Track & Field Stadium on Saturday night.

Penalty-Kick Shootouts

In their sixth penalty-kick shootout in MLS NEXT Pro during the 2023 campaign, LA Galaxy II defeated Real Monarchs 10-9. LA Galaxy II have won four penalty-kick shootouts this season at home this season, while losing twice on the road during the 2023 campaign.

LA Galaxy Academy

Seven LA Galaxy Academy Products started in the match against Real Monarchs: Carson Klein, Marcus Ferkranus, Ascel Essengue, Riley Dalgado, Adam Saldaña, Adrián González and Jonathan Pérez. Two LA Galaxy Academy products appeared off the bench in the penalty-kick shootout win over the Monarchs: Allan Legaspi and Ramos Jr.
