AFL Week 12 Power Rankings Announced

CHICAGO - After being ranked seventh overall just two weeks ago, the Arizona Rattlers (7-3) have taken over the top spot in the AFL Power Rankings following an impressive 86-70 victory over the Utah Blaze (6-4).
Rattlers quarterback Nick Davila tied the AFL record for touchdown passes in a single game with 11 passing scores against the Blaze, seven of which fell into the hands of receiver Maurice Purify.
The San Antonio Talons (7-3) moved up from fourth to second in the Power Rankings this week by manhandling the previously top-ranked San Jose SaberCats (7-3) by a margin of 72-47. The loss dropped the SaberCats to third.
The American Conference East Division holds the fourth and fifth spots; however, for the first time this season, the Cleveland Gladiators (6-3) outrank the Philadelphia Soul (7-3). The Gladiators are on a three-game winning streak after defeating the Tampa Bay Storm (5-5) 53-34 in Week 11, while the Soul fell to the Spokane Shock (5-4) 65-47. It was the second consecutive game the Soul failed to record 60 points after starting the season with eight consecutive 60-point games.
With the win, the Shock made the National Conference West the only division in which all four teams possess a winning record. Every West Division team currently ranks in the Top 10 of the AFL Power Rankings.
Making movement in the Power Rankings for the first time in 2012 are the Kansas City Command (1-8). The Command picked up their first win of the season in Week 11 with a 43-37 victory over the Pittsburgh Power (2-8). The win moved the Command up to 16th place, while the Orlando Predators (1-8) dropped to last place following a 68-61 loss to the New Orleans VooDoo (4-5).
The AFL Power Rankings are calculated on AFLFieldPass.com using vPower(tm), a scoring system based on winning percentage, strength of schedule, scoring percentage, and win-streak. The scale is normalized from 0 (lowest) to 100 (highest).
