May 5, 2004 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I) News Release
NEW YORK â The Arena Football League will set a regular-season total attendance record this weekend when eight games are played over Saturday and Sunday.
Regular-season total attendance through 13 weeks of the 2004 AFL season is 1,403,318, slightly more than 55,500 fans away from the current regular-season record of 1,458,830, which was set last season. The AFL is averaging 96,784 fans per weekend. There are four weeks left in the regular season.
This will be the League's sixth attendance record of the season. Week 1 (128,175 total; 14,242 average) broke four AFL attendance records â highest Week 1 total, highest Week 1 average, highest total for any week, and highest average for any week.
