AFL Offering Game Tickets to Families of Armed Services Personnel
Published on March 13, 2003 under Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I) News Release
NEW YORK â To show the Arena Football League's support for the men and women serving in our armed forces at home and overseas, all AFL teams are offering special discounts and, when available, complimentary tickets for all armed forces personnel and their families to any AFL game for the remainder of the 2003 season.
"This is a challenging time for our country and the world and we are thankful for the men and women of our armed forces," said Commissioner David Baker. "We are pleased to be able to offer this promotion, which in some small way, may provide a measure of support for the families of our servicemen and women during an otherwise stressful time.
The AFL is proud to have the U.S. Army as one of its principle sponsors, as well as the U.S. Navy, Air Force and Marines as advertisers on its NBC broadcasts every Sunday afternoon.
To take advantage of this offer, armed forces personnel and/or their families will be asked to present a military ID at their local team's box office to receive the tickets.
