Grand Rapids Rampage News Release
GRAND RAPIDS - The Arena Football League has partnered with Children's Miracle Network to help save and improve the lives of children at children's hospitals throughout the United States. In support of the AFL CMN Celebration, the Grand Rapids Rampage have committed to supporting Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, the local CMN affiliate, throughout the month of June.
The objective of AFL CMN Celebration is to generate awareness and raise funds for CMN hospitals across the country. The Rampage designated their June 1 and June 7 home games as Children's Miracle Network Celebration games, and will help support Helen DeVos Children's Hospital through public address announcements, a game-used autographed football donation and a special concourse table.
In addition, Rampage linebackers Michael McFadden (Saginaw, Mich.) and Leif Murphy (Spring Lake Park, Minn.) of the Rampage took part in the Celebration for Helen DeVos Children's Hospital broadcast this past Sunday, June 1, stopping by to pledge weekly visits by Rampage players to the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital throughout the month of June.
Meanwhile, the Rampage also generated over $300 in donations for Helen DeVos Children's Hospital when Rampage fullback Chris Ryan (Lake Charles, La.), offensive and defensive line coach Darrin Kenney and head coach and director of football operations Steve Thonn took turns under fire in a dunk tank during the team's Season Ticket Holder Party Wednesday (June 4).
"Caring for our kids is a real team effort," said Vicki Weaver, president, Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Foundation. "We're so grateful to have the Rampage on our team."
