PEORIA PIRATES (1-2) AT LOUISVILLE FIRE (1-2)
FRIDAY, APRIL 25, 2003 - FREEDOM HALL (16,154) 7:30 P.M. ET
The Peoria Pirates, led by head coach BRUCE COWDREY, look to extend their winning ways when they travel to Louisville for divisional showdown with the Louisville Fire. The Pirates come in with the fifth best scoring offense in the league, averaging 50 points per game. CHARLIE PETERSON has thrown 16 touchdowns on the season, including two last week to Ironman of the Week, DAVAREN HIGHTOWER. Hightower is tied for the team lead in receiving touchdowns (6) with JACK WALKER. The potent Pirates' offense faces a tough test against the Fire's ARKEE THOMPSON, who leads the league with five interceptions and is second on the Fire with 13.5 tackles. NORMAN MASON (Week 2 Ironman of the Week) also has an interception for the Fire. The Pirates swept the season series last year with a 72-20 drubbing on May 25 and a 34-24 win on July 20. The winner of this game takes a one-game lead in the all-time series with one more matchup scheduled for July 5 of this season.

BOSSIER CITY BATTLE WINGS (2-1) AT ARKANSAS TWISTERS (1-2)
FRIDAY, APRIL 25, 2003 - ALLTEL ARENA (16,058) 8:30 P.M. ET
After a slow start to the season, Arkansas quarterback RICKY HEBERT tossed seven touchdowns and ran for another last week against San Diego, doubling his passing touchdown total for the season (14). This week he'll try to repeat or better that performance against another explosive quarterback, SHERARD POTEETE of the Bossier City Battle Wings. What Hebert can do in the air, Poteete has the potential to match with his legs. The mobile Battle Wings' signal-caller has rushed for eight touchdowns already this season and passed for another 12. Poteete's offense is ranked second in the league is scoring (59.0 PPG) and yards per game (296.0 YPG). The Twisters' offense is ranked 14th and 6th in those respective categories, but is coming of a 51-point, 359-yard showing in San Diego. This game has the potential to be a shootout, and if recent history holds true it will be, as these teams have combined for 222 points in their last two meetings. GARY ANDERSON coaches the Twisters, and Bossier City is led by CHAD CARLSON. The last time these teams met was the final week of the 2002 regular season for the right to advance to the postseason. Arkansas cam out on top in that contest 61-51, but Bossier City won the other 2002 matchup, 56-54 on June 8. This is the first of two meetings this season.
