Lake Michigan Admirals News Release
Owensboro, KY.- The Lake Michigan Admirals didn't have much time to celebrate after Saturday's big win over the Detroit Hoops because they hurried up and showered and hit the road to Owensboro, Kentucky to take on the defending champions, the Kentucky Bisons. The Admirals finally arrived at 5:30am in the morning after a long bus ride. Sunday afternoon, the fans of Kentucky got their monies worth. The Bisons took the first quarter by the score of 27-22 and went into the half with a 52-51 lead over Lake Michigan Admirals. "I wish every game was as competitive as this one and if it were my stands would be packed," quoted Jay Sills, owner of the Kentucky Bisons. The Admirals had many highlight reel dunks and three point plays but the Bisons still lead after the third quarter 81-76. Even though Dominick Melton lead all scores with 29 points and Larry Logan had a double double with 10 points and 10 rebounds it just wasn't enough to hold off the experienced defending champions. Kentucky's charge was lead by Kenny Jones with 26 points and 8 rebounds. Final score Kentucky Bisons 113 Lake Michigan Admirals 99. The game was played at the Owensboro Sports Complex in front of a crowd of approximately 500.
