Lake Michigan Admirals News Release

Benton Harbor, MI.- The Lake Michigan Admirals were looking to sweep the Pittsburgh Phantoms on Sunday night at Benton Harbor High School and that's just what they did in front of a crowd of 450 fans. After Johnnie Edwards sang the National Anthem it was time to play ball. After the first quarter the Admirals were up by two 26-24 and from that point they never looked back. At the half the score was only 52-44 which is not typical of the Admirals' high potent offense. Can you say defense? That's exactly what Coach Buck Riley has been emphasizing. DEFENCE! DEFENSE! DEFENCE! Anthony Slater has adhered to Coach Buck's philosophy with having the game of his life with a quadruple double double 14 points, 10 rebounds, 11 steals, and 19 assists. "I really love this team and how it's coming together and it's alot of fun to play in front of the Admirals' fans," said Slater. Since Coach Buck Riley has taken over the head coaching duties he has a record of 6 wins and 3 losses. There were three other players with a double double. Odgra Bobo had 23 points and 18 rebounds, Dominick Melton had 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Shane Ross had 11 points and 18 rebounds. High scorer for the Phantoms was Dewayne Pettus with 24 points. Final score 110-94 Admirals.
