St. Joseph, MI- The Lake Michigan Admirals had the most exciting tryout that professional sport's fans have ever seen. The game hosted eighteen players fighting for the last twelve roster spots and they all played for the love the game. Former Benton Harbor standout and Fighting Illini Rodney Alexander put on a show leading all scores with a game high 46pts. He also received over 4,000 texts from the fans to lead in votes as well. Romain Martin McDonald's All American nominee out of Eastern Illinois, put up 22 pts. Also putting up double digit numbers from last years Admirals squad was Shane Ross with 28pts and Pete Trammell 21pts, Jay McCree 14pts, and Steve Strong 12pts. "This was the most exciting tryout I have ever seen. We have been trying to figure out a way to have a tryout in front of fans so that we can evaluate how the players play in react to the pressure and it was an success. Now the hard part is in front of us. Who do we pick - stated owner Chris Glisson. On Saturday night, Glisson came up with an idea to have his fans text in who they thought should be an Admiral and there were over 8,000 texts received. "I was so amazed at how many texts came in and they were right on. I value the opinions of our fans especially from basketball greats like L.C. Bowen and Mickey Yarborough who were in the stands," stated head coach Che' Eddie. There were over 200 people in attendance to witness a very high paced game. The game ended with the Gold team winning 157-126. The Lake Michigan Admirals will start off the PBL preseason tournament at Lake Michigan Catholic on November 26th, 2011 at 6:00pm.
