Adirondack Phantoms News Release

(Glens Falls, NY) The Adirondack Phantoms of the American Hockey League announced today the hiring of four new staff members, increasing the overall front office by two full time employees.

Bob Rotruck (pronounced Roh-truck), Marketing and Media Relations, joins the Phantoms after two seasons as the voice of the Wheeling (W.V.) Nailers of the ECHL who are also owned by Phantoms Co-Presidents Rob and Jim Brooks.

"Bob has really done a great job for us over the past few years," Phantoms President Jim Brooks said. "We are very proud and excited to be able to offer him this promotion."

Classic Hits Q101.7 will continue their close relationship with the team and again serve as the flagship station for Adirondack Phantoms hockey. Rotruck will call all the hard-hitting and fast-paced excitement of every Phantoms game.

Rotruck is the second member of the Wheeling Nailers staff to be promoted to the Adirondack team. Director of Ticket Sales Chris Perez made the jump last season.

"I know the fans are passionate about their AHL team and when the Civic Center gets rockin' it's just an amazing atmosphere," said Rotruck. "I can't wait for the season to get started!"

Prior to broadcasting Wheeling Nailers games, Rotruck was the long-time voice of Miami (Ohio) University Hockey beginning when he was a student there in 1992-93. He has also worked in minor league baseball for the Erie (Penn.) Sailors, Johnstown (Penn.) Steal, St. Lucie (Fla.) Mets, Vero Beach (Fla.) Dodgers and Elmira Pioneers. He has called almost 2000 games in the four major sports.

Andrew Hill takes on the new position of Director of Fun and Community Development, and comes to Glens Falls from Ghent, West Virginia. He will oversee all community appearances by Phantoms players, staff and Phlex, the Phantoms mascot. He has spent the past five seasons working in Minor League Baseball for the Bluefield Orioles and the West Virginia Power.

Andrew graduated from Concord University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with emphasis in Marketing.

Robin Sheridan has been named as Controller, and is a native of Washington County. She was the Director of Finance for a non-profit in Clifton Park, NY prior to coming to the Phantoms. Now residing in Clifton Park, Robin has also spent several years volunteering for the Shenendehowa Central Schools where her sons attend and she served as a PTA Vice-President.

Brandon Croce, Account Executive, is a resident of Clifton Park, NY. He formally worked for SMG at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, PA where his main responsibility was handling utility orders from exhibitors at the convention center.

Brandon graduated from St. John Fisher College with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management in 2008. He has also spent time working for the PGA of America and the Buffalo Bills in various operations positions.

The 2010-11 American Hockey League regular season will begin on Oct. 8. The complete AHL schedule will be announced tomorrow, pending approval by the league Board of Governors.

In operation since 1936, the AHL continues to serve as the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams. More than 85 percent of today's NHL players are American Hockey League graduates, and for the ninth year in a row, more than 6 million fans attended AHL games across North America in 2009-10.

Adirondack Phantoms ticket packages are on sale now and great seats are still available. The Phantoms offer a variety of ticket packages - including 3-packs, 6-packs, 12 and 22 select plans, full season plans and Flex Packs - and are available now in person at the Phantoms office inside the Glens Falls Civic Center or by calling 518-480-3355.
