ST. LOUIS, MO - AC St. Louis, playing in the USSF Division-2 Professional League, tied the Puerto Rico Islanders 1-1 Friday evening at The Anheuser-Busch Soccer Park in front of 2,241 fans. St. Louis raises their record to 5-11-7, as they concluded their five-game home stand.

Puerto Rico hopped on the board in the 18th minute when Nicholas Adderly took advantage of an AC St. Louis turnover in their own end. Adderly easily got onto the ball at the 18-yard box before taking two touches and slotting his shot past an outstretched Alec Dufty.

AC St. Louis tied the game just before halftime when Puerto Rico defender Marco Velez fouled John Lesko inside the penalty area on a corner kick. Lesko was at the back post waiting for Luke Kreamalmeyer's deep corner to reach him when Velez collided with him, denying the AC defender any chance to make a play on the ball. Referee Tyler Ploeger awarded the penalty, which Mike Ambersley converted for his seventh goal of the year.

AC St. Louis nearly took the lead in the 59th minute when Brad Stisser fed Mike Ambersley for a break away opportunity. Amberlsey dribbled in from 30 yards only to have his shot denied by Islander keeper Bill Gaudette with a terrific kick save. The shot produced a long rebound which Luke Kreamalmeyer collected before slipping a pass to his right for Brad Stisser who fired high over the bar.

Late in the second half the match was suspended due to lightning in the area. After a one hour and ten minutes the decision was taken to abandon the match in the 82nd minute.

AC St. Louis' next home match is on Sunday afternoon, September 5 at 6:00 p.m. against Miami FC. Tickets are still available and can be obtained by calling 1-888-STL-GOAL, or by visiting www.ac-stlouis.com.
