Season Ticket books to be mailed out to fans after Sunday's Fan Fest event cancellation due to snow
Due to accummulating snow at the Maryland Soccerplex (4 inches), the Freedom's annual Fan Fest event and subsequent exhibition game against the Boston Breakers were regrettably cancelled on Sunday. We made every attempt to post the cancellations on our website and on our phone message lines to alert our fans, as well as get a "Freedom Flyer" e-newsletter out to our fans as fast as possible on such short notice. We apologize for the inconvenience.
The season tickets will be mailed out to fans this week. Enclosed will be a card for you to come to Customer Service (behind section 314) to pick up your season ticket gift. Thank you for your continued support of the Washington Freedom and we look forward to seeing you at our home opener on Saturday, April 12 vs New York at 7 p.m.!
Freedom opener to be broadcast live on ESPN2
The 2003 Women's United Soccer Association season will feature a new television partner, as WUSA President and CEO Lynn Morgan announced today that the ESPN networks will join PAX TV in broadcasting 23 league games in 2003. The WUSA's 2003 national television schedule will kick off with a rematch of Founders Cup II when the Freedom visit the Carolina Courage on ESPN2 April 5 at 2:00 pm (ET). PAX returns for a second season with its WUSA Game of the Week, broadcasting 19 games on consecutive Saturdays beginning April 12 when the Boston Breakers visit the Atlanta Beat. Stay tuned for more information on additional ESPN2 games.
Freedom Academy cancels tonight's tryouts due to poor field conditions The Freedom Player Development Academy, presented by your Baltimore/Washington Hyundai Dealers, has cancelled its Tues., April 1 6 p.m. - 8p.m. U-13, U-14, and U-15 tryouts at Howison Park in Dale City, Va.
Academy tryouts scheduled for Wed., April 2 and Thursday, April 3 will occur as scheduled for all three teams (U-13, U-14, U-15) from 6 p.m. - 8p.m. at Howison Park. Hope to see you there.
Freedom fall to Breakers, 4-2, Monday at RFK Auxiliary Field The Washington Freedom fell, 4-2, to the Boston Breakers Monday morning in an exhibition match at the RFK Auxiliary Fields. The closed-door match was played Monday morning in blustery cold conditions, rescheduled after Sunday's surprise snow accumulation at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown, the original site for the match and the Freedom's annual Fan Fest event.

Freedom name Laura Schott and Erin Regan as 2003 developmental players
The Washington Freedom named midfielder/forward Laura Schott out of Cal and goalkeeper Erin Regan from Wake Forest Monday as developmental players for 2003. Both have earned time and produced quality minutes for the Freedom in preseason matches last month.
