ABA to play in King County, Washington this season

Published on October 5, 2006 under American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it has added a second Washington state team to the league, the King County Royals, that will begin play in November. King County is located in western Washington and is home to two of the state's most populous cities, Seattle and Bellevue.

According to Joe Newman, ABA CEO, "The King County Royals are owned and operated by Action Entertainment Group, Inc., which also owns the Bellingham Slam, one of the premier organization is the ABA. They are very skillful operators, have a first class organization and put together a tremendous team that made it to the Great 8 Championship playoffs last season. It is wonderful that they decided to add a second team there."

"We felt that it was very important to have a second ABA team in Washington state, and not just for travel considerations," commented Action Entertainment Group president and CEO John Dominguez. "The ABA proved to be very popular in Bellingham last season and we are very much looking forward to operating a second team elsewhere in the state."

Dominguez added, "The team expects to name a head coach and begin signing players shortly. The team is also currently in negotiations with several venues in the Seattle area and will make an announcement regarding the home court within the next week."

The Royals first game will take place at home on Sunday, November 12th against their I-5 rival, the Bellingham Slam. For more information on the King County Royals, please contact John Dominguez or Kip Leonetti at 360 734 7526 or by email at info@kingcountyroyals.com or visit www.abalive.com.
