ABA reschedule All-Star Game to Monday, February 14th

January 6, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

Indianapolis, IN. Joe Newman, ABA CEO, today announced that the ABA All Star Game will be played on Monday evening, February 14th instead of Sunday. According to Newman, "There were several considerations including the ability to have the game televised nationally and internationally. In addition, we had quite a few regular season games scheduled that weekend and felt that it was very important to play those games as scheduled. So, we'll play on Valentine's Day and hope that fans will spend that special day with us."

Gil Morgan, one of the All Star Weekend organizers added, "We will make the entire weekend special as previously planned with concerts, special basketball events, a golf tournament, parties, autograph signings and other things. But, like the NCAA Basketball Championship Game and the BCS Bowl, both of which are played on Monday and Tuesday nights, we think Monday night is great - especially on Valentine's Day too."
