ABA officials training session a huge success
Published on June 27, 2005 under American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Rochester, NY. Tom Chichester, ABA Director of Officials, has just completed another ABA Officials Training Center (June 24-26) in San Diego - and announced that "it was a great success." The weekend was packed with an enormous amount of training, including on court instructions, video evaluation, group interaction sessions as well as classroom instructional meetings over the course of three days.
According to Chichester, "This session was a very successful accomplishment in the right direction of preparing our enormous staff (this season there will be approximately 350 officials involved with the ABA) to go forth and spread this knowledge to all of the new people on board in our league."
He continued, "With the growth of the ABA occurring at the rate it is, this session was a 'must do' for our group of officials to insure that the ABA will have the quality game product to which we have become accustomed. There is still mch more to do to be ready for this large expansion but judging from this session, officials throughout the country are working diligently with me to accomplish this."
