ABA introduces playoff power rankings

Indianapolis, IN. The ABA today announced its ABA PLAYOFF POWER RANKINGS. According to Joe Newman, ABA CEO, "If the playoffs were held today, these sixteen teams would be included. The rankings are based on division leaders, runners' up, records and point differentials. Like the BCS, there will be some disagreements, but we believe the system is fair, right and will reward the best playing teams. One thing is for sure, every game counts, every point counts - and that's what it's all about.

8. Harlem Revival
9. Jacksonville Wave

Newman added, "The difference between teams 10-16 and 6 teams not included was very close - only a few points separated them. I would not be surprised to see 6-7 teams changing next week - and every week - as ABA teams battle to the last minute of every game. Fact is, "a four point play in the last minute of a recent game moved a team into the PLAYOFF POWER RANKINGS though the team lost by a significant amount."
