ABA coming to Santa Fe, New Mexico
April 12, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
El Paso S'ol News Release
Indianapolis, IN. Joe Newman, ABA CEO, today announced that a second ABA professional basketball team will be playing in New Mexico next season - the New Mexico Style. According to Newman, "This is the perfect fit to our southwestern division and it should create a tremendous rivalry with the cross state Gallup Talons. We're very pleased."
The principle owner of the team will be Antonio "Tree" Adams, who led the Colorado Storm last season. Adams stated, "Our success will not just be measured on our win-loss record or our profit-loss statement, but also by our involvement with our community. In support of that, the Style announced two community initiatives: a logo contest open to the community and the development of a high school traveling basketball team designed to give local athletes an opportunity to gain collegiate experience."
Adams added, "The ABA is known for providing fast-paced, exciting, fan-friendly entertainment at affordable prices - and that's exactly what the people of Santa Fe can expect. We are very pleased and proud to be a part of the ABA."
