ABA Birmingham Magicians to hold final tryout
September 26, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Birmingham, AL. The ABA Birmingham Magicians announced today that the team will host its final open free agent tryout camp, Saturday, October 8, 2005 at historic A.H. Parker High School in Birmingham. "We have located some outstanding talent in our previous camps, but we still have not signed a single player to this point," Albert Owens, Director of Personnel stated. "A lot of players couldn't make the other camps and this is the final opportunity to tryout and get an invitation to our veterans camp." Team officials are stressing that players must register by the deadline to be able to participate in the camp. "This is serious business and we want to attract players that are serious about playing professional basketball," Reginald McDaniel, owner said.
McDaniel also said his team roster spots are wide open and will go to the best players, no matter where they are from. "We invite all state and local players, but we cannot guarantee roster spots for anyone based on locality," McDaniel said.
The Birmingham camp will take place at A.H. Parker High School Gymnasium, 900 4th St. N, Birmingham from 830am-4pm on October 8th. The registration fee for participation in the camp is $100. Deadline for registration is October 6th. Registration forms can be obtained at www.bham-magicians.com.
