May 23, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

Alexandria, VA. If you have a military ID and want to get a glimpse of what the ABA is all about - exciting, exuberating, entertaining professional basketball at affordable prices, you'll want to be at Fort Belvoir Graves Gym on Saturday, June 3rd from 2-4pm when the Alexandria ABA team comes there. Admission is $2 for adults; free for kids 15 & under.

The event is sponsored by Fort Belvoir Federal Credit Union and was arranged by Nate Wilson of the Fort Belvoir Federal Credit Union and Mr. Andre Douglas, the Post Command Sergeant Major of US Army Garrison, Fort Belvoir. $1 of each ticket will be donated to the Special Olympics.

There will be a special half-time performance by a young up and coming dancer, Thomas Powell aka "The Mean Machine," a rising senior at West Potomac High School and his group, "Virginia's most wanted" featuring Myneesha Mills and Robyn Byrd, also students at West Potomac High School. There will be cheerleading from the Fort Hunt Youth Association, a local group during time outs...and there will be a guest DJ to entertain.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
