Published on March 11, 2007 under American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced an exciting contest where participants have a chance to win $50,000 at the ABA 2007 Championship Playoff Game. The ABA $50,000 Half Court Shootout contest will randomly select 5 contestants who will receive a free trip and accommodations to the ABA Championship Game. The 5 contestants will compete in a 3-point shooting contest, with the winner receiving a big screen television set. The winner of the 3-point shootout will then go to half court and have a chance to win $50,000.
Contestants can enter two ways: By logging onto www.abalive.com and clicking on the ABA 50K Halfcourt Shootout banner on the main page or by text messaging the number 34343 using the keyword ABA. There is a $.99 charge for each message sent and hopeful contestants can enter as often as they like.
The location of the Championship Game will be at the home court of one of the final two teams. The game will be played the last week of March or first week of April. Full details and official contest rules are available on the ABA website, www.abalive.com.
"We thought this would be a great way to top off a tremendous season," stated Joe Newman, ABA CEO. "A chance to go to the final game, to win a big screen TV and to take a shot for $50,000. It doesn't get much better than that." For more information, visit www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
