ABA Announces Return of Minneapolis/St. Paul in 2010

Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the league will return to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area in 2010 with the addition of a team owned by former NBA player, Ben Coleman. "Talk about a great basketball and business background, Ben Coleman has it," stated Joe Newman, ABA CEO. "With 13 years of experience as a professional player in the NBA with the New Jersey Nets, Philadelphia 76'ers and Milwaukee Bucks, plus great international experience where he was voted to the European All-Star team four times, we have no doubt that Ben will have a very successful operation there."

A star at both the University of Minnesota and the University of Maryland, he has been Director of Ben Coleman's Basketball Camp for Youth since 1988 and has also been varsity coach of the International School of Minnesota as well as the Coach of the Five Star Basketball Camp in Pittsburgh, PA and an AAU basketball coach since 2005. Presently a Mortgage Broker/Realtor and CEO of Nuline Telecom Solutions, Inc in Shakopee, MN, he is also the co-founder of the Coleman Foundation.

Other achievements include being a Board Member of the YMCA in Prior Lake MN, Student-Athletes Mentoring Program at the University of Minnesota, a member of the NBA Retired Players Association (NBA Legends), a member of the Minneapolis Association of Realtors, University of Maryland Alumni Association.

"I am a very highly motivated individual who can also motivate others to do their very best," stated Coleman. "I feel that I have outstanding teaching skills and excellent people skills. These will work both on the court and off the court. We will be competing in a very strong division. Our goal is to be one of the best organizations in the ABA and the support we've received thus far in the community has been extraordinary. We are definitely pleased to be a part of the ABA."
