ELMA, N.Y. (Tuesday, January 12, 2016) - The Western New York Flash announced today that former head coach Aaran Lines has been named the club's Vice President.

"Aaran has been instrumental in building the club from day one," said Flash President Alex Sahlen. "He will be a great asset in continuing our growth as a club. His passion for the Flash and experience will help guide the club from the front office."

"I'm looking forward to having a hand in the continued growth of the club. I take great pride in being a part of such a wonderful organization and although I'll miss being on the field, I know I'll find my way behind the bench at some point in the future," said Lines. "It's going to be an exciting year and I look forward to this next phase in my career and helping the club in my new role."

Lines, 39, recently stepped down as the head coach of the Flash after holding the position for each of the franchise's seven seasons. During his coaching tenure, Lines guided the Flash to three-consecutive league titles from 2010-12 and won the inaugural NWSL Shield in 2013 as the Regular-Season Champion.

Lines was also general manager of the club from 2009-15.
